Ukrainian Youth Delegate to the United Nations

Ukrainian Youth Delegates participated in the 59th session of the Commission for Social Development

 

The 53rd Session of the Commission for Social Development (CSocD53) took place from 4-13 February 2015 at United Nations Headquarters in New York under the priority theme “Rethinking and strengthening social development in the contemporary world”.

Among others, a draft resolution on policies and programmes involving youth, introduced by the representative of Senegal was adopted during the concluding session of CSocD. By this resolution the Council encourages States to develop comprehensive policies and action plans focused on the best interests of youth, as well as promote gender equality and the empowerment of young women and girls.  The Council would call on States to consider youth issues in all appropriate aspects of the post-2015 development agenda, urging them to promote young people’s participation in all such decision-making processes.

 

Ukrainian Youth Delegates actively engaged in the work of the Commission through informal negotiations on the Youth Resolution and through the general work of Ukrainian Mission to the United Nations in New York.
